One of the major keys to your success as an online home business owner is to build and grow a solid opt-in email list. While most online business owners understand the importance of putting an opt-in offer on their home page, many struggle to convert their visitors into subscribers.
Most web surfers are constantly BOMBARDED with requests to for their names and email addresses every time they go online. Web surfers are getting very picky about what they will give up their information for. With that in mind, having a bland, boring and unappealing opt-in offer such as “subscribe to my newsletter” just won’t cut it in this day and age.
If you want to maximize the the number of subscribers on your list you must write a benefit rich, exciting opt-in offer that your visitors want to sign up for. Below are three tips to help you write eyeball grabbing opt-in offers that almost compel your visitors to subscribe to your opt-in list.
Opt-In List Tip #1: Emphasize Benefits Not Features
When you write your opt-in offer, don’t just describe the information that you are going to send your subscribers, explain the ADVANTAGES of having this information.
Remember, your opt-in offer should always answer the “What’s In It For Me” question that your visitors are asking. your visitors will become much more interested when they think that there is a real value to giving you their email address.
Opt-In List Tip #2: Include A “Call To Action”
Make sure that your opt-in offer always tells your visitors EXACTLY what you want them to do.
It might seem obvious that that your visitor must enter their name and email address, and click the “subscribe button” but that is not the main reason for including a call to action in your opt-in offer.
A call to action creates a sense of urgency and helps to persuade your visitor to act immediately. If you want them to enter their name and email address into your opt-in box, say “Enter your name and email address into the spaces provided and click the subscribe button”.
Opt-In List Tip #3: Add A Link To Your Privacy Policy
As the amount of unwanted email that we all receive continues to increase daily, your web visitors become more and more reluctant to give out their email addresses because they are afraid that an unethical marketer may sell or trade them and they will get even more unwanted email.
By having a well-written privacy policy, that explains exactly how you are going to be using your subscribers personal information, along with a link to the policy, included right in your opt-in box will go a long way to reducing your vistors fear of giving you their email address.
By emphasizing these simple guidelines when you write your opt-in offr, you will be able to create very enticing opt-in offers that grab your visitors attention.
Now just place your opt-in offer prominately on your web page and watch your your opt-in list grow and grow!

Having a squeeze page, or as it is also known, a landing page is an essential part of your sales funnel. Without one you can’t build your list, can’t follow up with prospects or get a second chance at making the sale. Not only is a squeeze page an absolute must, having a squeeze page that converts well is even more important.
So how do you increase the conversion rate of your squeeze pages?
Here are three squeeze page conversion secrets used by all the big dog marketers.
- Squeeze Page Secret #1
Use Personalization.
There are two easy methods to personalize your squeeze page and I recommend using them both.
Make sure that you include a picture of yourself at the top of all of your squeeze pages. The second way to add personalization is to add your signature at the bottom of your squeeze page.
An easy way to make a signature is to use a script font in your word processing program, write your name and then save it as a graphic file.Adding your picture and signature to your squeeze pages will radically increase your visitors trust factor. Most people who are hesitant to purchase online because they are worried about being scammed by some nameless, faceless stranger who will not be around when they need support or want to return a product. - Squeeze Page Secret #2
Use Black Text On A White Background.
No matter what anyone tells you, a simple, clean and professional looking squeeze page will always covert better than one that uses loads of crazy looking off beat fonts and wild colors. It’s ok to use some color to emphasize your headline and sub-headlines (red works well for this), but don’t go crazy and distract your visitor.Remember, your squeeze page only has one purpose: Opt-in or leave. Any other choices like adsense ads or other links will only lower your conversion rates. - Offer Valuable FREE Content.
I know this is sort of a no-brainer, but these days the FREE bar has been raised considerably! You are not going to get anyone to join your list by offering some crappy report that doesn’t provide really good information. Reports, e-books, videos and e-courses still work well as long as they offer high quality information.Offering free, quality information is still effective for two reasons.
One, it allows your visitor to evaluate you and your products without having to spend any money, and secondly it reinforces the all important trust factor.
Follow these three steps and you will significantly increase your squeeze page conversion rates.
